Privacy Policy

This is an English translation of the Japanese privacy policy. If the two differ, the Japanese version prevails.

Kondate Maker_EX (the "App") respects the privacy of its users and strives to protect personal information. This policy explains what information the App handles and the purposes for which it is used.

1. Information the App handles

1-1. Information you create and save in the App

The menus you create, recipes you add to your favorites, your notes for each recipe, photos you take or save, and URLs you bookmark are stored in the App's own storage area on your device. None of this is sent to a server run by the developer or to any third party (the developer has no server).

So that it is not lost when you switch to a new phone, for example, this information is also saved in your own cloud storage.

• iOS: an area reserved for the App inside your iCloud Drive (iCloud.com.taka.Kondate). The contents are synced between iPhones and iPads that use the same Apple ID.
• Android: Google's backup (Auto Backup). The data is restored when you move to a new device.

Both are inside your own account, and the developer cannot view or retrieve what is stored there. You can turn iCloud off at any time on iPhone under Settings → [your name] → iCloud, and Google's backup on Android under Settings → Google → Backup. Even if you turn them off, the App keeps working as it is, using only the data on your device.

When you uninstall the App, the information on your device is deleted. The copy in the cloud can be deleted from the settings above.

Photos taken or saved in the App's in-app browser are handled in the same way as above.

1-2. Information collected for ad delivery

To keep offering the App for free, the App uses Google AdMob, an ad delivery service provided by Google. To deliver ads and measure their effectiveness, AdMob may automatically collect the following information.

1-3. Recipe import feature (optional; only if you set it up)

The App has a feature that imports recipes from the Rakuten Recipe API provided by Rakuten Web Service. This feature works only if you enter your own application ID on the settings screen. Unless you enter one, no communication with Rakuten Web Service takes place at all.

If you use this feature, recipe search requests are sent to Rakuten Web Service. Only the information needed for the search is sent, and it contains no information that identifies you.

1-4. The in-app browser

The App has an in-app browser for displaying recipe sites and other web pages. The developer does not collect the browsing history of pages you open there or anything you enter there. However, each website displayed is subject to its own operator's privacy policy.

1-5. Information the App does not collect

The App does not collect personal information such as your name, address, phone number, email address, date of birth or credit card information. There is no account registration or login system. In addition, no analytics tools or crash reporting tools are included at all.

The App does not request access to your location, contacts, calendar, microphone, or your entire photo library.

2. Purposes of use

• To provide the App's features (creating menus, saving favorites, recording notes and photos)
• To display ads and keep offering the App for free
• To measure the effectiveness of ads and prevent invalid ad impressions

3. Disclosure to third parties

The developer does not sell or rent users' information to third parties. Except where the information described in 1-2 above is sent to Google, and the information described in 1-3 is sent to Rakuten Web Service, no information is provided to outside parties.

If a request for disclosure is made under the law, the developer may respond to it within the scope permitted by law.

4. Your choices

4-1. If you do not want personalized ads

• iOS: when the App asks whether to allow tracking on first launch, choose "Ask App Not to Track". You can also change this at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
• Android: under Settings → Google → Ads, you can delete your advertising ID or turn off ad personalization.

Whichever you choose, you can keep using every feature of the App as it is. Ads will still be shown, but they will no longer be based on your interests.

4-2. If you live in the EU, the UK or Switzerland

The App shows a consent screen on first launch through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). You can change or withdraw your consent from this screen at any time.

4-3. If you want to delete saved information

Uninstalling the App deletes all menus, favorites, notes, photos and bookmarks stored on your device.

The copies in the cloud can be deleted here:

• iOS: Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Drive → apps on this iPhone; select the App and delete its data
• Android: Settings → Google → Backup → App data; delete the App's backup

5. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

6. Retention period

Information you create is kept on your device and in your own cloud storage until you delete it. Uninstalling the App deletes the copy on your device, and the cloud copy can be deleted by following the steps in 4-3. The retention period for information collected by Google for ad delivery follows Google's privacy policy.

7. Changes to this policy

This policy may change as laws change or as features are added to the App. When an important change is made, it will be announced on this page. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
