Counting, done properly — and nothing else.

Counting stock, counting people through a door, counting laps. The hard part is usually that you have to look at the screen to press anything. Counter1234 counts with the volume buttons, so you can keep your eyes on what you are counting — or keep the phone in your pocket.

Screens

Side buttons = screen buttons. Volume down is +1, volume up is +10

What it does

Count with the volume buttons — no need to look at the screen. Each press returns a haptic tap so you know it registered
Any step you like — not just +1: the four buttons take any whole number, positive or negative. Count in 10s, in 500s, or downwards
100 named memory slots — save a tally under a name and recall it later. Link one and it follows the count as you go
Undo — the last 50 changes can be taken back
Full screen — the number only, rotatable, large enough to read from across a room
CSV export — writes out the memory slots with their names and timestamps, ready to share or open in a spreadsheet
Keep the screen on — for long counts, a setting stops the screen from going dark
Light or dark — choose the look you prefer
10 languages, including English and Japanese

Your counts and settings are all stored only on your device. There is no account.

I miscounted

Undo takes back your changes one at a time, up to the last 50. To correct the number itself, press and hold the number and type it in again.

The volume buttons don't count

Check Settings. Under “Enable Physical Buttons”, volume up and volume down each have their own on/off switch, and how much each one counts by is set under “Step Settings”. If both are switched off, pressing them does nothing.

How do I remove the ads?

You can buy Remove Ads in Settings. If the ads come back, for example after you change phones, try “Restore Purchases” on the same screen. You can also watch one video ad to go ad-free for 24 hours (“Watch a video for 24h ad-free”, available when a video is ready).

Privacy

Your counts, the names of your memory slots and your settings stay on your device. There is no account and no sign-in. To keep the app free, it shows Google AdMob ads, and the ad SDK collects some data to deliver, measure and diagnose them. The privacy policy lists exactly what, and how to opt out.
