Album Diet (iOS) / Last updated October 2, 2026

This is an English translation of the Japanese privacy policy. If the two differ, the Japanese version prevails.

Summary
With Album Diet, neither photos nor videos ever leave this iPhone. The only communication is with Apple, through iOS's App Store system, when you buy or check “Pro” (from version 1.4; see section 2). No information is collected, and there is no account registration. There is no advertising, analytics or tracking either.

1. Information collected

None. There is no user information that the developer can obtain, store or view.

This app has no server. Loading, compressing, saving and deleting photos and videos all take place only on the device.

2. Information sent outside the device

No photos, videos, settings or usage information are sent outside the device.

The only exception is buying and checking “Album Diet Pro”, the one-time paid upgrade introduced in version 1.4. The purchase and payment, checking whether the purchase is active, and checking whether you installed the app by version 1.3 (the first version App Store recorded for you) go through iOS's App Store system (StoreKit) and Apple. No photos, videos, settings or usage information are part of this either, and the developer does not receive your name, payment method, Apple Account or similar information.

3. Access to the photo library

Because working with the photo library is the core function of the app itself, the app asks for permission to both read and write the photo library. This access is used for the following two purposes only.

Deletion is done through the standard iOS mechanism, so iOS shows its own confirmation screen every time. The app never deletes photos without your permission. Deleted items remain in “Recently Deleted” in the Photos app for 30 days and can be restored from there.

With “Add Photos Only” permission, the feature that deletes the original data cannot be used. Even if you do not use deletion, read access is needed to calculate correctly how much space will be freed.

4. What the app does not use

5. Personal information contained in photos

Photos may contain information such as where they were taken (latitude and longitude) and the device's serial number. By default, Album Diet carries this information over unchanged (because if the date taken or the location were lost, the order in the Photos app and the map would be disrupted).

If you want to remove this information before giving photos to someone, you can choose what to remove on the “Personal data” screen. This processing also takes place only on the device, and the removed information is never sent anywhere.

6. Children's privacy

This app collects no user information whatsoever, regardless of age. It does not collect personal information from children under 13 either.

7. Sharing with third parties

Because no information is collected, there is no information to provide to third parties. No third-party SDKs are included in the app.

8. Changes to this policy

If the contents of this policy change, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised. If a change would increase the information collected, it will also be noted in the app's release notes.
