Nuka Diary (iOS) / Last updated October 2, 2026
This is an English translation of the Japanese privacy policy. If the two differ, the Japanese version prevails.
This policy explains how Nuka Diary ("the app") handles your personal information.
Your care records, photos, pickling history and other entries are stored on your device. The developer never views any of it.
If you turn on iCloud sync, your records sync through Apple's iCloud within your own Apple Account only. Photos are not synced and are stored only on the device.
The app shows ads through Google AdMob so it can stay free. To deliver ads and measure how they perform, AdMob may collect information such as:
On the App Store product page, these are declared under "App Privacy" as follows. The party that collects and uses this data is Google, not the developer.
| Data | Purpose | Used for tracking |
|---|---|---|
| Device ID | Third-Party Advertising | Yes |
| Advertising Data | Third-Party Advertising, Analytics | Yes |
| Product Interaction | Third-Party Advertising, Analytics | No |
| Performance Data | App Functionality, Analytics | No |
| Crash Data | App Functionality | No |
| Coarse Location | App Functionality (getting the weather) | No |
"Coarse Location" in the table is used for the weather lookup described in section 4. Your location is never handed to the ad network for advertising. However, the ad SDK may infer a rough region on its own from your IP address when it connects. This is a different path from handing over the coordinates.
"Crash Data" and "Performance Data" are used to diagnose the SDK. Developer-facing analytics tools (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and the like) are not included in this app.
See Google's policy for details, and Google's official documentation for what the SDK collects.
If you purchase the ad-free plan, the app does not run the processing for showing ads at all. Payment is handled through Apple's App Store, and the developer never receives your credit card number or other payment details.
Location is used only if you turn on "Match today's temperature". It is off by default, and every feature of the app works with it off.
You can allow or disallow location access at any time in iPhone Settings → Nuka Diary → Location.
Stirring reminders and notifications that your pickles are ready to eat are created and shown on your device. They do not pass through any external server.
Photo access is used only when you attach a photo to a record. Photos you take or select are stored on the device and are never sent anywhere.
This app is not directed at children under 13.
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date on this page will be revised.
